Errata

Last Updated 2/4/08
The first run of boards, Rev A, identified by no revision number or company name, has three silk screen ommissions, two silk screen errors and two drill errors. All errors have been fixed for future runs. In addition there are either one or two jumpers that need to be added depending on the sound chip used.

All Boards

  1. C5 and C6 - These two capacitors are polarized however the proper placement is not shown on the silk screen. On C5 the lead closet to U2 is +. On C6 the lead closet to U4 is +.
  2. D1 and D2 - The silkscrens for D1 and D2 are backwards. The short lead goes in the hole closest to the edge of the board.
  3. R7 and R9 - The drill size used for R7 and R9 is too small. After bending the leads, if neccesary, on the pot you must tack the leads to their respective pads. The leads will not fit through the drill holes.
  4. U2 - The silkscreen for the orientation of the low power regulator was left off. The regulator is oriented so that the flat side is facing the lettering U2.

If Using 60-120 Second Sound Chips

  1. Install a jumper between U1-7 and J2-2 (illustration)
  2. On the backside of the PC board cut the trace, using a sharp blade, between U1-4 and U1-9. ( illustration)
  3. Install a jumper between U1-9 and J2-2 (illustration)
